Marco Mazzoni
Marco Mazzoni is Associate Professor of Communication Sociology at the Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche, University of Perugia. He teaches Public Relations in the course of Communication Sciences. Mazzoni has been a Visiting Professor at the University of California, San Diego (November 2006 – January 2007). His main research interests are the theories of lobbying, in particular the ability of the lobbyist to influence decision-making, and political communication, with a focus on the popularization of politics. He has presented papers in major national and international conferences: Society Italy Political Science Conference (SISP), Italian Association of Sociology Conference (AIS), Conference of the American Political Science Association (APSA), European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR), European Sociological Association (ESA) and International Association Communication (ICA). His major publications include: “Le relazioni pubbliche e il lobbying in Italia” (Rome, Laterza, 2010); “Nuovi approcci alla comunicazione politica” with Enrico Caniglia (Rome, Carocci, 2011); "Il gossip al potere. Il politico celebrità nell'era della politica pop" with Antonio Ciaglia (Rimini, 2015). His work has been published in International Journal of Press/Politicsm European Journal of Communication, Journalism, Journalism Studies, Celebrity Studies, International Journal of Cultural Studies, European Journal of Cultural Studies, Perspectives on European Politics and Society, il Mulino, Comunicazione Politica and Cuadernos de Informacion.
