Perceptual Video Coding

Perceptual Video Coding aims at optimizing the perceived quality of a video sequence by the assignation of a different amount of bits per macroblock using perceptual criteria. These criteria are based on:

Motion masking and Region of Interest detection

Analysis of the perception of textured macroblock

Our current challenges include automatic assessment of perceptual videos by using estimates of the subjective opinions.
