5/11/17
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) appears with 12 of its Bachelor’s degree programs holding top positions in the 50 CARRERAS ranking published by El Mundo newspaper, which gathers the 50 most popular degree programs among students and the five best Spanish universities in which to study them.
Three UC3M Bachelor’s degreez (one more than last year) are ranked as the best in Spain: Business Administration and Management, Finance and Accounting, and Telematics Engineering. Three of its degree programs are in second place: Law, Economics, and Labor Relations. Two degrees are ranked in third position: Electrical Engineering and Communication Systems Engineering. Three degree programs are in fourth place: Political Science, Computer Engineering and Telecommunication Technologies. Finally, holding fifth position nationally is Audiovisual Communication.
The ranking is a result of analysis of 25 selection criteria, the opinion of over 2,000 professors, and other indicators, such as university demand, human and physical resources, study programs, graduation rate, research projects, internationalization, etc. Accordingly, a general ranking for universities is established which takes into account the number of degrees ranked in the top spots.
Only a part of the UC3M degree programs can compete in this ranking, as the University does not offer all of the degrees that are assessed. For example, UC3M does not offer studies in Architecture, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy or Psychology, which are some of the degree programs considered in this ranking. Despite this fact, UC3M holds fifth place in the national ranking because of the number of its degree programs in first place
