Professor María Pilar Otero González
Pilar OTERO GONZÁLEZ is Professor of Criminal Law at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Director of the Inter-University Institute for Cultural Communication and deputy director of the Master's Degree in Advanced Public Law Studies at the same University. In 2014, she received the Excellence Award for her research career from the Social Council of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Author of 8 monographs and more than 80 works published in indexed journals or in prestigious national and foreign specialised legal publishers. She has participated in numerous national and European competitive research projects, some of them as principal investigator. She has carried out research stays at the University of Oslo and at the Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Defense. Her main lines of research are: 1. Offences committed by civil servants. Secrecy and criminal law. 3. Corruption. 4. Criminal protection of culture. 5. Privacy and computer crimes. 6. Gender-based violence and sexual harassment. 7. Sentences and security measures; telematic monitoring of convicted persons.
