Professor María Carmen Ciller Tenreiro
Lecturer at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Department of Communication, 2007). Currently Director of the Graduate School of Humanities and Communication at UC3M. She has been Director of the Department of Communication between 2014 and 2021. In February-March 2010 and 2015 she was Visiting Professor at the Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France). In the academic year 2023/2024 she is Visting Research Fellow at the University of Leeds (UK).
She joined UC3M in 2003 after working at the University of Santiago de Compostela where she participated in the European project "Television and Interculturality in Galicia, Brittany and Walles" and in the creation of the Observatorio Audiovisual Galego de la USC. He participates in the creation of the Research Group "Cinema and television: memory, representation and industry" of the UC3M founded by Manuel Palacio in 2006. In 2008 and 2009 she joined the Group of Specialists on Media Diversity (in the groups Media Communication, Media Diversity and New Media) of the Council of Europe as an expert. In recent years she has collaborated in international research activities organised by the National R&D&I Plans: CCEBA (Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires, 2010), King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center (New York University, 2014), Inter University Center (Dubrovnik, 2012-2023), Sorbonne Université/Instituto Cervantes Paris (France, 2021, 2022), Universität Regensburg (Germany, 2022).
In 2014, she participated in the creation of the Academic Master's Degree in Film and Television, of which she has been the director ever since. Founder and deputy director of the University Institute of Spanish Cinema since 2021.
