Professor Pablo Fajardo Peña
Pablo Fajardo is Professor of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and a PhD from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.
His research has focused on the modelling and simulation of physical systems, especially with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and in recent years mainly on the development of numerical methods for modelling plasma flows for use in space propulsion and on experimental research on plasma propulsion thrusters. He has co-directed 4 PhD theses and is supervising another 4. He has published more than 40 papers in JCR journals, and more than 50 publications in conference proceedings. He has been or is being principal investigator of 5 state research plan projects, 2 European H2020 projects, 2 regional projects, 2 with the European Space Agency, and more than a dozen contracts with companies. Additionally, he has been a researcher in more than 18 competitive projects and 20 contracts with companies.
He is currently Vice-Rector for Research Teaching Staff, having previously been First Deputy Director of the Higher Polytechnic School (May 2018-November 2023), and Director of the Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering (April 2014 - November 2023).
Teaching Planning of the Higher Polytechnic School (2016-2018), Secretary of the School (2012-2016) and Deputy Director in charge of several degrees related to Telecommunications I. (2004-2009).
