Professor Pablo Serrano Yáñez-Mingot
Pablo Serrano earned his degree in Telecommunications Engineering and his Ph.D. from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in 2002 and 2006, respectively. He has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Telematics Engineering since April 2011, serving as Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Director of the Department, and Director of the Master's Program in Connected Industry 4.0. He has conducted research stays at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the University of Edinburgh, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Brescia, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and Telefónica I+D Barcelona. His research focuses on the analysis and design of wireless networks.
He is the author of over 120 scientific publications, including 60 articles in JCR-indexed journals (half in the first quartile). He serves as an editor for the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, Elsevier Computer Communications, and The Computer Journal of Oxford Academic, and has previously been an editor for IEEE Communication Letters, a guest editor for a special issue of Elsevier Computer Networks, and a feature topic editor for IEEE Communications Magazine. He has been a member of the organizing committee for 14 conferences and the program committee for 24 conferences (in 70 editions). He has supervised five Ph.D. theses and over fifty final degree projects. He has participated in dozens of research projects and contracts, acting as principal investigator for four international projects, four national or regional projects, and eight industry collaborations.
