Juan J. Fernández is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social Sciences at Carlos III University of Madrid. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2009 and joined Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2011. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and the Social Science Research Center Berlin. He currently teaches comparative sociology, social theory, and political sociology. His main research areas include attitudes toward European integration, social attitudes and policies, and reproductive rights. His work has been published in journals such as American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, European Sociological Review, European Societies, and Journal of European Public Policy.
