Olivera Milosevic - Institute of technical Science of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SERBIA)
Olivera B. Milosevic is a Principal Research Fellow of the Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ITS SASA), Belgrade, Serbia. The main field of her scientific work has been related to the advanced materials processing (ceramics and composites) with particular emphasis in research and development of nanophased materials using chemical reactions in aerosols. The significance of her research has been confirmed by more than 100 scientific papers in relevant scientific journals and presentations at the international conferences. Dr. Milosevic is a member of the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) Industry and Development Working Group, and a full member of the International Institute for the Science of Sintering (IISS), Belgrade. In the field of international cooperation, she has had successful collaboration with the Japan Fine Ceramic Center, Nagoya, Japan, through the program "Functional Materials Synthesis through Aerosols". She also has close contacts with Carlos III University where she has often lectured as a visiting professor.
RESEARCH STAY AT UC3M: MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
PROJECT: Among the diversity of the “bottom-up” chemical approaches for nanomaterials processing, it was shown that synthesis through dispersion phase (aerosol) enables generation of ultrafine, either single or complex powders with controlled stoichiometry, chemical and phase content provided by high heating and cooling rates, short residence time and high surface reaction. Particularly, the opportunities of the hot wall aerosol synthesis, i.e. spray pyrolysis, has been demonstrated with various analyzing techniques like XRPD, SEM/EDS, TEM and fluorescence measurements for the generation of the following materials.
