UC3M Account
Student ID / UC3M Account
Once you have been nominated by your home university, you will receive an email with your UC3M username (NIA) and the instructions to activate your account correctly. This is not immediate, it may take several weeks.
This NIA (100xxxxxx) is your ID number at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and it gives you login and access to all online and physical services at Uc3M: Aula Global, email account (100xxxxxx@alumnos.uc3m.es), online course registration, Library Services, Computer Rooms, etc
Before activating your Uc3M student account, please read carefully the following instructions:
- Enter the activation website (the link is at the end of these instructions)
- Choose the option “Are you an International/Mobility student?” among the different options; the other options do not apply to mobility or exchange students.
- Write your NIA (100xxxxxx) in the field “username” and complete the “Captcha” question.
- Click the button “Send to email”. An email will be sent to the same address you received your NIA number.
- Follow the instructions you will receive in the email to choose your personal password UC3M; this password must be 8 to 30 characters long and needs to include caps, lowercase, numbers and special characters (! ? # @ $ etc)
- If you don’t have a Spanish cell phone number, you must leave that information blank, as it will not work to recover your account.

UC3M email account:
Your Uc3M email is a Gmail-based account and is easily accessible through the Gmail website and phone app. You can also find a direct link here: nube.uc3m.es
Please start using your Uc3M email from the beginning. It will be the address we will be using to communicate with you, as well as sending relevant information, official documents, and your Transcript of Records at the end of the semester. This is also the email account to which professors will write and important and useful information from the University will be sent to.
