RESEARCH STAY AT UC3M: DEPARTMENT OF BIOENGINEERING AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING
Project: Dr. Bacharach’s main focus will be on the development and improvement of methods to better quantify Positron Emission Tomography images from both cardiac and oncologic studies. In particular: (1) Improve methods for reducing respiratory artifacts caused by CT attenuation correction. (2) Investigate more optimum methods for determining the “arterial input function”, used for quantifying both tumor and cardiac uptake. And (3) attempt to improve quantification of tumor and cardiac images by employing better region of interest definition, as well as the use of kinetic modeling.
Stay period: SEP 2013 - MAY 2014
