Lousie Gullifer - University of Oxford, UK

Professor Louise Gullifer is Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Oxford and was elected to a Fellowship at Harris Manchester College in 2000.    She holds one of the temporary chairs of the Business and Law Research Centre, International Commercial Law, at Radboud University, Nijmegen.   She is the director of the Commercial Law Centre at Harris Manchester College and executive director of the Secured Transaction Law Reform Project, as well as the Oxford academic lead of the Cape Town Convention Academic Project, and one of the UK delegates to both UNCITRAL (working group VI) and Unidroit.

During her stay at UC3M, Professor Gullifer will work on the following projects:

• Article jointly with Professor Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell ‘How automatic can an automatic electronic secured transactions register be?’ for publication in a UK peer-reviewed journal.
• Finalising the 6th edition of Goode and Gullifer on Legal Problems of Credit and Security (Thomson Reuters)
• Finalising the 2nd edition of The Law of Personal Property (Bridge, Gullifer, Low and McMeel) (Sweet & Maxwell)
• Finalising the 3rd edition of The Law of Security and Title Financing (Beale, Bridge, Gullifer and Lomnicka) (Oxford University Press)
• Paper on ‘A comparison of the position of buyers under the three protocols’ for the Cape Town Convention Academic Project 6th conference in September 2017
• Paper on ‘Financing of micro-businesses’ for the Uniform Law Review (jointly with Maria del Pilar Bonilla and Professor Ignacio Tirado)
• Paper on ‘Mapping out problems in the financing of micro-businesses’ for Law and Contemporary Problems (Duke University) (jointly with Professor Ignacio Tirado)
