Department of Mathematics, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
The Department of Mathematics is an interdisciplinary department that focuses on the teaching of mathematics in the School of Engineering's degree programs. In particular, it plays an essential role in the Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics and Computing, the Master's Degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics, and the Ph.D. Program in Mathematical Engineering.
The Department's research is distinguished by its international relevance and pronounced interdisciplinary nature, extending from the development of fundamental mathematical knowledge to the application of mathematics to other fields such as physics, biology, and other sciences. The research is organized around the following six official research groups: Group of Applied Analysis (GAMA), Group of Differential Equations and Applications (GEDA), Applied Mathematics Control Systems And Signals Group (GMACSS), Complex Systems Interdisciplinary Group (GISC), Group of Numerical Methods and Applications (GNMA) and Modeling, Numerical Simulation and Industrial Mathematics Group (MNSIM).
