Master in verification process for the academic year 2026-2027
The Master in Aerospace Science and Technology (MAST) offers a rigorous, research-oriented education for students who aspire to contribute to the future of aerospace engineering. Designed for motivated graduates in engineering or applied sciences, this one-year (60 ECTS) program provides advanced scientific and technical training in key fields such as flight dynamics, propulsion, space systems, computational fluid dynamics, data analysis, and experimental methods.
Fully taught in English and delivered in person, the MAST promotes an international and collaborative learning environment within a highly active Aerospace Engineering Department. Students work alongside faculty engaged in cutting-edge research and gain access to state-of-the-art laboratories, experimental facilities, and high-performance computing resources. This stimulating academic setting exposes students to real-world scientific challenges while integrating them in research groups leading prestigious projects funded by the European Commission, the European Research Council (ERC), and the European Space Agency (ESA), as well as strategic collaborations with the European aerospace industry. The program cultivates critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving abilities, equipping students with the advanced research skills required to tackle tomorrow's technological challenges in aeronautics and space.
With a strong focus on science and technology development, the MAST is the ideal route for students intending to pursue a PhD in aerospace engineering or related disciplines. It also offers excellent preparation for R&D careers in the aerospace sector, research laboratories, and innovation-driven institutions. The aerospace sector is rapidly expanding worldwide, generating a strong demand for highly skilled professionals capable of leading innovation. MAST graduates emerge ready to contribute to technological advancement and to assume leadership roles in this strategic field.

Application
The request must be submitted electronically through our application system. Before beginning the admission process, please read the following information:
REQUIREMENTS
To access this master degree it is necessary to have a bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering, which is the main access profile. It is also possible to access with a degree in other related degrees, which requires taking complementary education courses. In this case, these are the additional access profiles, such as:
- Mechanical engineering, energy engineering, industrial engineering, physical engineering
- Physics, mathematical physics
- Mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics and computing
FORMATIVE COMPLEMENTS
The various additional access profiles (i.e. those different from a degree in aerospace engineering) must take one or more complements (up to 10 ECTS) attending, as a general rule, to the following criteria:
- All additional profiles must take the subject Introduction to Aircraft and Flight Physics
- Those profiles that have taken less than 9 credits in the subject of point and rigid solid mechanics, must take the complement Classical mechanics in aerospace engineering
- Those profiles that have taken less than 9 credits in fluid mechanics, 6 in thermodynamics/thermal engineering, and 9 in solid mechanics must take the complement Fluid and solid mechanics in aerospace engineering
The Master’s Steering Committee has the power to review the details of the curricula previously completed by prospective students and determine the need for additional training complements to those specified by the above criteria.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
The suitability and ordering of the candidates will be done according to:
ADMISSION CRITERIA WEIGHTING Academic record of access studies (*) Up to 70 points Letters of recommendation (**) Up to 25 points English level (B2) Up to 5 points (*) Regarding the academic record of the degree that motivates access, the following will be taken into account: the average grade, the number of years taken to obtain the degree, and the adequacy of the study program to the program of the master's degree.
(**) Other merits that may be considered, at the discretion of the Steering Committee, include: other academic studies, previous professional and research experience, scholarships and awards received, letter of motivation, other languages, etc.
ADMISSION PROFILE
Students accessing this master's degree must have excellent prior training in IAE sciences, mainly in applied mathematics, mechanics, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. Adequate knowledge of the language of instruction and work of the master's degree, English, is obviously necessary.
They must also have key aptitudes and qualities to successfully carry out high-quality R&D&I activities in IAE, such as intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, analytical skills, rigor, and honesty.
