The remnants of the cultural past are so present in today’s world that, without fully understanding them, we would be hard-pressed to comprehend our way of life, our beliefs or our customs. We study that past in historical and cultural processes, in artistic manifestations and in the structure and architecture of cities.
Cultural heritage has generally been studied as historical-artistic patrimony or as an activity of ethnological or folkloric interest. However, it is also worth reassessing its social significance. In this regard, the Master’s in Hispanic Cultural Heritage is geared towards those interested in the research of such subjects by means of comprehensive cultural studies.
The Master’s includes required courses such as introduction to research and research methods, and optional courses in which the legacy of different historical periods is studied, along with art, urban communities and landscapes. It is also possible to direct the interest of public administrators in the treatment, use and dissemination of cultural heritage so that they are prepared to confront the complex issue it presents.
This Official Master’s in Hispanic Cultural Heritage seeks to study these historical materials of different types and origins in a new way, from a point of view that allows them to be considered as a whole.
