The Master's in Contemporary Spanish Language and Literature offers a specialized study of the most relevant linguistic and literary phenomena in the Hispanic world of the 21st century. It also aims to deepen the knowledge of the latest literary trends in Spain and Latin America, written in Spanish, throughout the current century, as well as to reflect on the current standard and usage of the language.
This master's degree seeks to train individuals interested in contemporary Spanish language, literature, and culture, or those who have professional prospects in the fields of teaching, cultural management, translation and interpretation, or international relations. Likewise, those interested in developing academic careers through doctoral studies or wishing to update previously acquired knowledge will also find this master's program to be highly suitable for achieving these purposes.
The courses are configured using a thematic criterion, which allows for a transversal treatment of issues related to different significant axes of contemporary Spanish culture. The approach will be interdisciplinary, meaning the study encompasses multiple perspectives and focuses.
The theoretical-practical training offered in the classes is based on the analysis of a broad corpus of current literary and linguistic texts and includes creative writing courses. Furthermore, this program is complemented by various activities: conferences given by some of the most relevant figures in the current literary scene or the organization of thematic seminars.
