All the customized courses for the 2024 academic year

The customized courses developed during the 2024 academic year were The Practice of Consulting; Summer course: Ethics for Engineers and Research Labs; and New research and developments in engineering for biomedical facilities.

New Research and Developments in Engineering for Biomedical Applications

 July 8–11, 2024

This course addressed the new challenges posed by biomedicine from a technological perspective. Under the academic direction of Professor Elisa Ruiz-Navas and coordinated by Dr. Salah Al Ansari, the program offered two main approaches:

  • Research in biomedical engineering: optical techniques, augmented reality, tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, and deep learning in biomedical imaging.
  • Recent technological developments: exoskeletons, surgical navigation, and serious games for rehabilitation.

Faculty included Alicia Pose, María Victoria Gómez Gaviro, Sara Guerrero Aspizua, Diego Velasco, Caterina Fuster, Mónica García, Dorin Sabin Copaci, and Enrique Fernández Rodicio.

Summer Course: Ethics for Engineers and Research Labs

June 17 – July 24, 2024

In collaboration with the UCEAP (University of California Education Abroad Program), C3IS organized an eight-week stay in which students participated in custom Research Labs and took the course Ethics for Engineers, taught by Professor Gonzalo Génova Fuster.

Students selected their area of interest and were assigned to a laboratory within the School of Engineering at Leganés, working under the guidance of faculty experts. The course combined technical development with ethical reflection on engineering practice.
