The MSc in Finance is a one-year full-time* official programme of the highest quality. It is currently ranked among the best Masters in Finance in the world by both the Financial Times and best-masters.com.
Our graduates develop their careers in investment banking, financial boutiques, private equity and financial departments in non-financial entities. Students may do internships after the third term for a maximum of 9-months. In the past editions students found employment in top companies as: Moodys, Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, CNMV, KPMG, Deloitte, BBVA, Santander Bank, Credit Suisse, Repsol, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, McKinsey and the ECB, among others.
The programme has exchange agreements with top universities, enabling some students to study abroad additional courses. Graduates have the option to pursue a second year at Stevens Institute of Technology to obtain a Master’s Degree in Financial Technology and Analytics. The Master's in Financial Technology and Analytics program is designed for students wanting to pursue Data Science and Fintech careers in the financial industry.
CFA Institute, CAIA and GARP Academic Parter. The program covers specific contents aligned with CFA, CAIA and FRM certification exams, including 70% of the CBOK topics for all three levels of the CFA Program exams.

The Master’s is taught over a 11-month period and it is organized in four 7-week terms. The 60 ECTS programme consists of compulsory (30 ECTS) and elective courses (24 ECTS) plus an End-of-Master project (6 ECTS) where the student specializes in a particular topic under the guidance of one of our academic experts.
Prior to the official beginning of classes, around the second week of August, there will be some compulsory online preparatory courses. There will also be a related exam on-campus during the first week of September.
The elective courses are designed so that students can specialize in the particular aspects of finance that are best suited to enhance his/her career. The program includes voluntary seminars on topics like investment banking or Python and R programming languages, among others.

In this first term, the elective courses are established by the Academic Committee to ensure all students get a basic and homogeneous knowledge in Accounting, Computer Tools (Matlab) and Macroeconomics. Students with a Bachelor in Economics must choose Financial Accounting and Computer Tools. Mathematicians or engineer must choose Financial Accounting and Macroeconomics, and students coming from Business Studies must select Macroeconomics and Computer Tools.Master's Thesis: 6 ECTS

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. Foreign applicants must possess an equivalent degree (three or more years of university studies) from an official university. Students in the last year of their Bachelor’s studies may also apply for admission; their application will be considered upon confirmation that they have successfully completed their Bachelor’s programme.
Admission criteria
Admission will be decided by the Master’s Academic Committee. Candidate selection will be done on the basis of the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence: Successful applicants will have excellent bachelor degree results and the appropriate education to make the most of the programme. The Committee value the presentation of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) results, as evidences in candidates’ quality.
- Curriculum Vitae, aims for the future and, if required, personal interview.
Admission Profile
The Master is aimed at students with little or no previous experience. The student profile of this Master in Finance is any individual with a Bachelor’s or Degree in Economics or Business Administration (with a quantitative profile) or in Statistics, Mathematics or Engineering and whose goal is to work in the financial industry. It must be a person with intellectual curiosity, knowledge of English, and quantitative skills.

Since English is the official language of the programme, a high level of written and spoken English is required. This knowledge can be accredited with the results of an official C1 English diploma (CEFR) including evaluation of the 4 areas: listening, reading, speaking and writing. As a general rule, the following minimum scores for other certificates are required:
- TOEFL (iBT): 95-120
- IELTS: 7.0 - 8.0
- Cambridge ESOL: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
- TOIEC (Four skills): ≥ 1305
- Linguaskill: minimum of 185
The language requirements will not be required to those students whose mother tongue is English or students who have completed their undergraduate studies in English, upon presentation of the relevant documentation.

Once admitted to the Master’s program, students holding a university degree from a higher education institution outside the EHEA must provide the diploma, legalized through diplomatic procedures or by The Hague Apostille, for enrollment. They must also submit their transcript of records, including the grade point average, duly legalized.

60 ECTS in the first academic year:
- EU students: €9,000 (€150/ECTS credit)
- Non EU students: €13,500 (€225/ECTS credit)
NOTE: the indicated public prices do not include in any case, neither the ECTS corresponding to the Formative Complements that the student must take (only master's degrees with previous Formative Complements), nor the cost of issuing the master’s degree certificate.

- Pursuant to the regulations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a student failing to pay any part of the fees will not be admitted and the enrolment process will be terminated. In cases of cancellation of enrolment due to non-payment, the University may demand the payment of the pending amounts for enrolment in previous academic courses as a prior condition of enrolment.
No diploma or certificate will be issued if a student has any outstanding payments.

Our students are allowed to do internships after they finished the third term. DUAL DEGREE: UC3M - STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (NY, USA)
MASTER IN FINANCE (UC3M) AND MASTER OF SCIENCE IN FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY AND ANALYTICS (STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY)
The UC3M-FIN is taught over an 11-month period, and it is organized in four 7-week terms. During each of the first three terms, the students complete 15 ECTS credits. During the final term, the students complete 9 ECTS and start an End-of Master project for 6 credits.
The coordinated program will recognize some of the courses taken at UC3M to count for 9 credits toward the Stevens MFTA degree. The following credit conversion is established: 6 ECTS = 3 US credit hours. The following courses are deemed equivalent:
