The Official Master’s in the Law of Regulated Industries from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid aims to provide its students with the necessary legal knowledge and practical training that will enable them to work in the regulated industries. It covers a broad range of subjects with a common focus: the study of all the legal aspects of the water and energy industries, the financial system, transportation and postal services in their different areas of public law (administrative and fiscal) and private law (commercial and civil).
The Official Master’s in the Law of Regulated Industries is geared especially towards:
- a) Students who have completed any degree eminently of Law or Law Doubles combined with Business or Economics
- b) Students who seek to pursue a Master’s in Access to the Practice of Law and at the same time wish to specialize in the regulated industries
- c) Professionals who carry out their work in the area of regulated industries who are looking to update their knowledge.
☛ For students enrolled from non-EU countries, a completely free Course 0 will be provided to familiarize with the Spanish and EU legal systems in order to guarantee the follow-up of the master's degree.

The Master program builds on a common general module focused on the key institutions of Law of all relevant economic regulated industries in the market system.
Once completed this general module, the students enhance their knowledge in single technical subjects of the regulated industries (funding, taxation, network service organization). Furthermore, the regulated industries of major current interest are examined in detail, namely, water and energy, financial sector and transports.

When registering, the student will choose one of the three elective subjects offered in the First Semester.
- SEMESTER II
The elective subjects (12) are grouped into three thematic blocks of BANKING-FINANCIAL REGULATION, ENERGY AND TRANSPORT. Each student must choose the same block or path where he will take the 4 optional subjects that are part of the same intensification to obtain the Official Master's degree. However, the delivery of each of the intensifications is conditioned to the existence of a minimum number of students based on the enrollment made. The minimum number of students is set at 8, so that if this minimum number is not reached, only the majority speciality will be studied.
Note: In the block corresponding to the intensification of ENERGY, students must choose only one of the subjects marked with *. However, students who wish may take the 5 subjects as a training supplement to their title by paying the fees corresponding to the credits of the additional course taken.

Requirements
Bachelor in Law, or dual bachelor in Law and Business Administration, Economics, Politics Science, etc.
Admission criteria
Candidate selection will be done on the basis of the following criteria:
ADMISSION CRITERIA % Student record of previous studies 50% Knowledge of the subjects of the master 25% Professional experience related to the Master’s area of study 25% Language requirements
Check the general language requirements required to study a Master’s at UC3M, depending on whether it is in Spanish, English or bilingual.
students with foreign university degrees
Once admitted to the Master’s program, students holding a university degree from a higher education institution outside the EHEA must provide the diploma, legalized through diplomatic procedures or by The Hague Apostille, for enrollment. They must also submit their transcript of records, including the grade point average, duly legalized.

If needed, documents must be accompanied by an official sworn translation into Spanish.

Reservation fee: €600
- it will be paid once the student receives notification of admission to the master’s, and deducted from the first tuition payment
- the reservation fee will only be refunded if the master program is cancelled
60 ECTS in the first academic year:
- EU students: €5,700 (€95 / ECTS credit)
- Non EU students: €9,000 (€150 / ECTS credit)
Those students who attend an additional specialty as a supplement to the degree must pay the price corresponding to the credits of those subjects.
NOTE: the indicated public prices do not include in any case, neither the ECTS corresponding to the Formative Complements that the student must take (only master's degrees with previous Formative Complements), nor the the cost of issuing the master’s degree certificate.

Additional information
- You may enrol on the master’s degree after completing the admission process and receiving formal confirmation of your acceptance.
- When performing the enrolment you can choose between Full-time enrolment or Part-time enrolment.
- The email address provided upon enrolment will be used for formal communications; students are therefore kindly requested to check their mail regularly.
- Pursuant to the regulations of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, a student failing to pay any part of the fees will not be admitted and the enrolment process will be terminated. In cases of cancellation of enrolment due to non-payment, the University may demand the payment of the pending amounts for enrolment in previous academic courses as a prior condition of enrolment.
No diploma or certificate will be issued if a student has any outstanding payments.

- PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Course 0
Course 0 Introduction to Spanish and European Union Law aims to provide foreign students of the different Official Masters of the Graduate School of Law with the necessary basis to face in the best conditions their specialized postgraduate studies at UC3M so that they can achieve an optimal use of them.
The target audience of this Course will be those students who have obtained their academic degree in Law outside Spain, either in other European Union States or in third countries or in a discipline other than Law, either in Spain or abroad. These students must attend Course 0, unless they can prove that they have at least 3 years of prolonged professional legal experience in Spain. In any case, they must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the basic institutions of Spanish and European Law through the evaluation test scheduled in Course 0. Once the exam has been passed, a certificate of attendance and completion of the course will be issued.

The UC3M offers you the possibility of taking the Master's Degree in Law of the Regulated Sectors and the Master's Degree in Legal Practice and Representation together, which will put you in the best conditions to pass the professional aptitude assessment tests for the practice of law. You can choose between its two editions, March or September:
- Double Master's Degree in Legal Practice and Representation (September Ed.) and the Law of Regulated Industries
- Double Master's Degree in the Law of Regulated Industries and Legal Practice and Representation (March Edition)
