Optional credit recognition
For the academic year 2019-2020, the Vice-president of Students and Equality adds a series of workshops and experiences to the list of training activities through the Student Support Services. Our workshops, included in the Personal Improvement Program are designed for the Development of Abilities and Skills of each student. In addition, we provide different Tutoring programs, such as the Course Mate Program, which are encompassed within these experiences.

Tutoring programs
Participation in tutoring, mentoring and accompaniment Programs is rewarded with optional credits. These types of activities are known as experiences. The Student Support Services offers the option to participate in the following programs:
Course Mate Program: this tutoring program among students can be carried out with both degree students and international students (Buddy Program). Participating as a course mate tutor comes with a recognition of three optional credits. Recognition of six optional credits will be given if the student is a course mate tutor for two or more years.
Avanza Program: this tutoring program among students has the objective of supporting students who are struggling in some subjects. The work put in by a student who participates in Avanza as a course mate tutor will be rewarded with three optional credits.
Mentoring Program for Secondary School Students. In this program, university students act as mentors to secondary school students. They offer them their help and inspiration while working on a social project as part of an international competition that aims to encourage technological vocations. Participation in this project is rewarded with three optional credits.
Duplo Program of accompanying the elderly in care homes. This Program is organised by the Fundación Gregal, in accordance with a signed agreement with the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Its purpose is to promote the coexistence of the elderly living in care homes with university students. Participation in this intergenerational program will be rewarded with three optional credits.
Experiences with high school students. In this program, university students carry out information and accompaniment activities for high school students, both in the academic offer and in university life. Participation in this program is recognized with three elective credits.
Students representation
Student representation is framed within the activities designated as experiences.
The allocation of credits will be made taking into account the recognized levels of representation and responsibility:
Representatives integrated in the Student Delegation: they can obtain from one to three credits
- Delegate and subdelegate of the Center: 3 credits
- Delegate and subdelegate of Degree: 2 credits
- Delegate and subdelegate of Course: 1 credit
The Delegates and Subdelegates who occupy several of the delegations or subdelegations described above (eg course and degree, degree and center, etc.) will only be recognized the number of credits corresponding to the higher level of representation they occupy in said academic year.
- Faculty member: 1 credit
- Member of the Governing Council: 1 credit
- Member of the Faculty or School Board: 1 credit. Delegates and sub-delegates of the Center who are part of the Board in their capacity as natural members are excluded from this recognition.
- Resident Council Member: 1 credit
- Member of the Social Council: 1 credit
