The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid is an official examination centre for Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE). These are official titles, certifying degrees of competence and mastery in the Spanish language, granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Professional Training. They are designed to assess and provide internationally recognised evidence of the level of proficiency in Spanish.
Likewise, the Universidad Carlos III is an examination centre of the International Spanish Language Evaluation Service (SIELE), which electronically certifies the command of the Spanish language proficiency of students and professionals worldwide. SIELE certifies the degree of proficiency for Spanish in the four language skills and takes as a reference the levels outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) set by the Council of Europe.
