PROJECT: New student residence

OBJECTIVES: To construct a new student residence on the Getafe campus

This project was managed by the foundation of Universidad Carlos III and was integrated into the 2009-2012 state plan for housing aid, by an agreement between the Ministry of Public Works, The Autonomous Region of Madrid, the City of Getafe and Universidad Carlos III and as such, benefited from public funding.

It consists of the completion and implementation of a residence for university students and teachers within the Getafe Campus. The building has a total of 318 rooms distributed as follows:


  • 296 single rooms for undergraduates
  • 10 rooms for disabled guests
  • 1 apartment suitable for disabled guests
  • 11 apartments for faculty and graduate students

In the first year of residence, average occupancy was 93% for single and 50% in the apartments.
