Action: Phase II of the Scientific Park

Objetives: To construct 3 new modules corresponding to Phase II of the Scientific Park to increase the business incubation space, joint centers and in general, the interface structures to reinforce and expand university/industry& business collaboration

This action aims to contribute to the third objective of Campus Carlos III which is Boosting University knowledge transfer capacity, developing the second phase of the Leganes Scientific Park.
 

With the construction of this new space, a sole locale will be available for the diverse activities of technology transfer. At present, such activities are spread out among different University buildings as 100% of Phase I space is occupied. In addition, due to the complexity involved in working out the desired growth of companies in the incubation stage, solutions are offered which may not be ideal for a business environment. This new building in Phase II of the Scientific Park will be for:

• Pre-incubation space
• Expansion of incubation space
• Center for start-up and spin-off companies
• Joint centers
• Calculation Center
• Meeting Rooms
• Multi-function meeting rooms for talks, conferences, etc.

Construction awarded on April 29, 2011 to CORSAN-CORVIRAM S.A. Construction, which is due to start, will take 11 months.
