The Master in Applied Artificial Intelligence provides knowledge and skills for the design and development of solutions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the most relevant sectors, with a clear professional orientation for a sector with a very high demand professionals in these technologies.

In the last decade, Artificial Intelligence has promoted innovation in practically all economic sectors. Today, using AI techniques is becoming essential in all business areas as they bring opportunities to improve the performance of traditional techniques and processes, which implies, among other things, improving the quality of services and processes.

The objective of the program is training professionals to understand the most relevant existing Artificial Intelligence methods and techniques and apply them to develop appropriate solutions to the different types of problems they may face. It seeks to provide graduates with an integrative vision of Artificial Intelligence, knowing in detail the main paradigms such as Machine Learning or Representation and Search, taking into consideration the most relevant applied techniques and emphasizing the relevant applications that will be found.

The configuration of the study plan emphasizes elective subjects among a broad program, so that the student selects those ones which fit better with her/his own interests and previous knowledge.

Students’ academic background must be in accordance with the studies of the Master Degree. Access to the Master will be from:

      • Bachelor students from the branches of Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering and Industrial Electronic Engineering who recently completed their studies and are interested in the technologies and applications of the IoT. They will be also looking for a professional orientation according to this technology.
      • STEM undergraduate students who have sufficient knowledge to study and pass the curriculum of the Master.
      • Engineers and graduates from the former STEM area, with career experience in positions related to software development, and in which they have acquired these skills, who intend to recycle and adapt their knowledge to the technologies associated with Artificial Intelligence.

      FORMATIVE COMPLEMENTS

Formative complements comprise three subjects: Databases and Infrastructures (2 ECTS), Object-Oriented Programming (2 ECTS) and Statistical Reasoning (2 ECTS). These subjects are designed to provide with the necessary knowledge and skills to those students who do not have a sufficient academic level to access the degree.

Formative complements won’t be required when proffessional experience of at least two years in a position directly related to the indicated competences is accredited.

In any case, the academic committee of the master's degree will decide the credits to be taken by the candidates according to their admission profile.
